Model Schools Services 2011-12

Quality, customized, in district professional development
Model Schools program specialists work with teachers, administrators and support staff district technology initiatives, workshops and in service courses. Costs for this service are eligible for BOCES aid. All program specialists are NYS certified teachers with many years of experience integrating technology into classroom curriculum. We can also hire consultants to work in your district.

Professional development workshops, conferences and meetings
The Model Schools program offer regional workshops in our computer lab at Wheatley Heights. All workshops are listed on our website http://www.wsboces.org/instructionsupport/#pdf . We also host bi-monthly meetings for district administrators and technology coordinators. Please register for workshops and meetings at http://www.wsboces.org/webreg.

Breakfast Briefings and Lunch and Learns
To keep districts informed about new technologies, we host “lunch and learn” sessions. All interested educators are invited to attend these free 2 hour events.

Substitute and stipend reimbursement
After school in-service courses facilitated by district teachers are eligible for BOCES aid. Member districts can also receive aid on substitute teacher expenses for teacher attendance at regional workshops and conferences.

Videoconferencing opportunities
Contact Karen Schmid (kschmid@wsboces.org ) to learn how your district can participate in desktop, ISDN, and IP videoconferencing sessions with educational content providers.
